This piece was made for my sister earlier this year. It is a sleeveless blouse in navy cotton fabric with a hand embroidered neckline. The pattern was based on some of her other blouses. Just a simple sleeveless top, fully lined with side bust darts. I didn’t take any photos of the full blouse unfortunately.
I sketched out a rough embroidery design as a guide. After the stage of sewing the lining layer at the neckline, I began the free-hand embroidery using an embroidery hoop to stretch out the fabric. Once the embroidery was complete, I completed sewing the blouse.
The white embroidery stands out against the dark navy and is a delicate accent to a simple top.
So pretty !

Beautiful! Is she an astrogeek? Or did you just decide know a whim to embroider the starry neckline?

I just came up with the design myself as I thought it would look good with the white details against navy.

It looks great. I do like that idea. Thanks for sharing and perhaps an idea on one of my tops.
